The Jenks Coalition for Smart Growth continues to accrue legal fees so that the case will have the chance for an outcome of a citywide vote on reversing legislation for Jenks Ordinance No. 1617.

Legal Fund
The JCSG is a grass roots organization formed when citizens came together to oppose regional commercial development at the intersection of Peoria/Elm & 106th Street. The group was able to utilize legal assistance to oppose legislation created by the Jenks City Council when it approved PUD 142. The JCSG gathered over 1,000 signatures required for a referendum petition when only 522 were required. The Jenks City Clerk verified 933 signatures and ordinance no. 1617 was seemingly off to a citywide vote. The developer chose to sue the three main petitioners in district court. The JCSG put an appeal in motion.
